After working for an Australian based digital agency for 4+ years helping in the creation of campaigning digital platforms, in the middle of the pandemic, I started trying my own path.

This project designed for a close one became part of my new learnings and experimentations, as I was willing to start working on some independent projects with my idea to help small businesses, i.e. designing their whole branding, user interface and online presence, optimizing their platforms for SEO, and more.

Jomaira Imagen is the brand of Jomaira Laverde, who has worked for more than 20 years in fashion, image consulting, fashion design, and personal image courses and lessons for individuals and big companies.

The website we created was a way to give Jomaira Imagen an online presence and place her in the view of more possible contractors and students. It is mainly a portfolio site that displays her biography and experience to generate trust, shows the available courses and lessons, contains articles related to fashion and personal image, commemorative videos of previous classes, tips, conferences, and more; it summarizes experiences lived by the students and by the company.

Although it was a rough year and we had the expected launch date delayed a couple times, we finally set the site live in her current domain in 2021.

I delivered the website's custom UI design and responsive development, paired with a Content Management System (CMS) that I meticulously configured and planned at ease to make certain contents dynamic and easy to edit.

During the first months the owner organized articles and created content that I helped her upload using the custom CMS that mirrored most of the content and pages in the site.

The site has been live since 2021 serving particularly as a Portfolio of services and main hub of information for Jomaira's work around fashion.

Forestry.io CMS is dropping in 2023 in favor of their newest Tina.io CMS; I'm also currently using NextJS which I started learning in 2022 matched together with Hygraph CMS which I have found one of the most intuitive CMS's I have used and much better than Forestry.io which jomairaimagen.com is currently using.

Although there has been no conversation yet, and I think the client is looking on creating a new landing page soon that displays her current work and other entrepreneurship she has been working on.

I travelled to London so I couldn't work on this before, but I might be tackling a website's re-design in my own time soon to bring the site to a more modern developer environment and using the better Hygraph CMS, as the old one became one of the main reasons of difficulty of use as it could create some bugs. Hygraph CMS instead is way more intuitive, more robust (using the modern GraphQL's query language) and way smoother to edit making for a better experience and ease of use for the clients.
